A city that listens, in one place.
ShillongOne is the citizen platform for Shillong — built so a resident, a visitor, or an officer can see what the city is doing, what it's planning, and how to be part of it.
Owned by the city
Operated by Shillong Smart City Limited under the Government of Meghalaya. The platform belongs to Shillong, not to any vendor.
Open by default
Every public dataset is downloadable. Every suggestion is in the open record. Every closure is published before it begins.
Accessible by design
WCAG 2.2 AA across all citizen surfaces. Available in English, with Khasi, Garo, and Hindi being prepared.
Who runs ShillongOne
A small joint team, with public oversight.
Operating body
Shillong Smart City Limited (SSCL), a special purpose vehicle constituted under the Smart Cities Mission, is the operating body. The platform is overseen by the SSCL board, chaired by the Chief Secretary of Meghalaya.
Operations
Day-to-day operations are run by a 14-person team comprising triage officers, ICCC operators, and engineering leads, supported by the Commissioner of Police (Traffic) and the Shillong Municipal Board.
Built for everyone
We aim for WCAG 2.2 AA across every citizen surface. Our process: design tokens are validated for contrast, every page is screen-reader tested before release, and the route suggestion flow has a typed-text fallback for citizens who can't draw on a map.
If you've found something we got wrong, please write to accessibility@shillongone.gov.in. We acknowledge within one working day.

Live — all systems normal
The technology behind the city
ShillongOne is the public face. The platform is composed of multiple systems and partners.
Live traffic intelligence — segment-level congestion, incident detection, GMCP outbound feeds — is provided by TraffiCure, the AI traffic platform from Lepton Maps.
Base maps, geocoding, and routing are provided by Google Maps Platform under the Google Maps Content Partner programme.
What we collect, what we don't
For citizens, the only mandatory information to submit a suggestion is the issue itself — location, category, description. Phone number and email are optional, used only for status updates, never sold or shared.
For the live traffic feed, the engine reads camera-derived counts and segment-level speeds. We do not store individual vehicle tracks or licence plate data on this platform. Any law-enforcement use of camera data follows separate legal protocols managed by the Police Department.
