The week in traffic — issue 11
On the new ICCC cameras, the Polo Tower drainage works, and why we are slowing down on bus lane decisions.

Twelve new ICCC cameras went live this week. Eight of them are at junctions the engine flagged as data-gap zones — places where we had a hunch about congestion but no firm numbers. We will publish the first month of readings as open data.
Polo Tower drainage works are 70% done — Phase 2 begins next week. Expect single-lane operation in the AM peak Tuesday through Friday.
A note on the GS Road bus lane proposal: we'd hoped to launch in May. We are pushing to July. The reason is honest — the public consultation surfaced a real issue we hadn't planned for, namely loading-unloading at the south end of the corridor, and we need to design for it before we paint a lane.
Better a delayed lane that works than a fast lane that doesn't.
